February 11, 2020, marked the 5th annual International Women and Girls in Science Day. The annual day to recognize the critical role women and girls play in science and technology was established in 2015.
International Day of Women and Girls in Science is implemented by UNESCO and UN-Women, in collaboration with institutions and civil society partners that aim to promote women and girls in science.
The day is a reminder that women and girls play a critical role in science and technology communities and that their participation should be strengthened.
During the week of Feb. 11, 2021, Olay has shared that it plans to send science lesson kits to teachers 'to shine a spotlight on the educators who are science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) heroes and mentors and to inspire more young girls to pursue careers in STEM fields.'
According to one outlet, inside the box, teachers will find letters and videos from female leaders, scientific tools to help with both in-person and virtual learning, and a skin science lesson plan focused on the power of hydration.
