Sonya Sepahban was senior vice president for engineering development and Technology at General Dynamics Land Systems when she received the 2012 Technologist of the Year Award at the Women of Color STEM Conference Awards gala.
Among her many achievements, she led a team that produced the revolutionary double-V-hull design for the U.S. Army’s Stryker infantry combat vehicle, saving lives by increasing the vehicle’s protection against improvised explosive devices.
The Women of Color STEM Conference recognizes outstanding women in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and provides excellent opportunities for professional development, networking, and recruiting.
The conference is focused on the development of women in STEM careers and ensures that the superior achievements and importance of these outstanding women are highly visible to all conference participants.
