Dr. Qian (Beth) Zou is a familiar face at the annual Women of Color STEM Conference. She was a Leaders & Legends panelist for a few years.

Since 2014, she has served as Associate Dean and Professor at Oakland University, where she has worked for about two decades.

Originally from China, she earned a bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. in precision instruments and mechanology at Tsinghua University.

Dr. Zou joined Oakland University, the second-largest university in the Detroit Metropolitan Area, as a visiting instructor in 2002.
