Donna L. Bell, Ph.D. won the Technologist of the Year Award at the 2018 Women of Color STEM Conference. During her trailblazing career at the Ford Motor Company, she has collaborated with key stakeholders to establish strategies that increase growth in connectivity, artificial intelligence (AI), driver-assist technology (DAT), and robotics.
In a recent position she served as a director for AV & Mobility Strategy and led the development of strategic priorities across the company’s AV & Mobility businesses, including software and data, future technologies, fleet services, and alliances and partnerships.
She has also managed university alliances and enhanced Ford’s science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) strategy, including Ford’s involvement in US CAR (U.S. Council for Automotive Research).
A few years ago, Bell managed the overall operation of Ford’s Greenfield Labs Silicon Valley facility and grew the collective team to more than 300 researchers, scientists, engineers, and designers. She interfaced with local academia and industry partners, collaborating to create solutions that support Ford’s vision of smart vehicles for a smart world.
