Dr. Qian (Beth) Zou is a familiar face at the annual Women of Color STEM Conference. She was a Leaders & Legends panelist for several years. Since 2014, she has served as associate dean and professor at Oakland University, where she has worked for about two decades.
Originally from China, she earned a bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. in precision instruments and mechanology at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
Dr. Zou joined Oakland University, the second-largest university in the Detroit Metropolitan Area, as a visiting instructor in 2002.
The Women of Color (WOC) STEM Conference recognizes outstanding women in the STEM fields and provides opportunities for professional development, networking, and recruiting.
The conference is focused on the development of women in STEM careers and ensures that the superior achievements and importance of these outstanding women are highly visible to all conference participants.
