Yvonne Gonzalez joined The Boeing Company as a structural analysis engineer in 2015. To date, she has worked on the DARPA/Boeing Experimental Space Plan program and with the NASA/Boeing Commercial Crew (CST-100).
Yvonne has also spent time volunteering. Some of the events she has supported are the Girls Scout Troop day at a local middle school; the "Noche de Ciencias" or Family Science Nights organized by SHPE, and Family Day-STEM Activities.
Yvonne holds three degrees from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez: a bachelor’s in civil engineering, a master's in structural engineering, and a Ph.D., also in structural engineering. Since 2018, she has served as an adjunct professor at Saint Louis University, where she provides an orientation to students to consider options in the aerospace field.
Yvonne was born in Germany to an American soldier and German mother. At 10 years old, she moved to Puerto Rico with her dad, where she lived until moving to St. Louis, Missouri, to start a job at Boeing.
When Yvonne first arrived in Puerto Rico she could only speak German but she quickly learned Spanish and English and excelled in school.
Yvonne now has two sons. Her oldest son is studying finance at The University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus.
