The Executive Leadership Council (ELC), which has nurtured Black excellence and leadership in business for decades, made the big announcement on Twitter. "Congratulations to ELC CMember Niki Allen, who was named Chief Information Technology & Operations Officer at Boeing," the tweet read.
Recently, Allen served as senior vice president of technology at Kohls. In that role, she led architectural system design, application development, deployment, and integration of marketing and merchandising technologies. In addition, she led the data platform and analytics initiatives and served as a key transformational change agent and champion enabling Kohl's technology transition to a product-centric software development organization.
Prior to this position, Allen held positions of increasing responsibility at Boeing as vice president and senior director of information technology and data analytics. Allen first joined Boeing Defense Systems Technology Program Management in 2002 as a program manager for technology solutions.
In a recent interview "2020 Best & Brightest EMBAs: Niki Allen, Georgetown University (McDonough)" she was asked which achievement she was most proud of in her career.
"Being recognized as a Leading Woman of Color in STEM (2015) at the Women of Color In Technology annual conference," Allen replied. "This was a huge achievement for someone like me who experienced homelessness and other trauma during my childhood."
