Alicia Boler Davis is a prominent figure in the tech and healthcare industries, currently serving as the CEO of Alto Pharmacy. Prior to her role at Alto, she had a successful 25-year career at General Motors (GM), rising from an intern to executive vice president of global manufacturing, labor relations, and sustainability.
She was one of the highest-ranking women in the Detroit automotive industry when she received the 2014 Technologist of the Year award at the Women of Color STEM Conference.
Boler Davis started her career as a manufacturing engineer and soon rose to become a plant manager, the first Black woman appointed to that position at a GM vehicle manufacturing plant.
She also served as plant manager with dual roles as vehicle line director and chief engineer. Later, she led Connected Customer Activities, including infotainment and personal mobility initiatives.
As part of Amazon’s senior executive team or s-team, she led efforts to ensure the safety of employees in worldwide operations as Amazon continued to deliver to customers and communities during a global pandemic.
Born and raised in Detroit, Boler Davis earned a degree in chemical engineering from Northwestern University, a master's in engineering science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from Indiana University.
In 2018, she delivered the address during the Commencement Ceremony at Rensselaer and was an Honorary Degree Recipient. She has also been recognized for volunteering as a member of The Links Inc. and board member of the Care House of Oakland County.
Business Insider listed Boler Davis as one of the Most Powerful Female Engineers and she was honored as Black Engineer of the Year at the 2018 BEYA STEM Conference. She was ranked as one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women in 2020 and 2021.
