Andrea is a software engineer, web expert, and senior consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. Early in her career, Andrea was a helicopter mechanic in the U.S. Army, repairing systems of the army's most utilized helicopter.
The iconic "Chinook" is used for humanitarian disaster relief operations and mass evacuations. Now retired from the military, Andrea has over 15 years of experience in software engineering, database design and development, business/system analysis, and computer software training.
She hones her skills by attending technical events and maintains relationships she fosters at professional conferences to share best practices.
Andrea has developed in-person training for advanced users and training videos to increase the capacity of the organization to automate key business features. She delivers monthly training to her client's organization. She is recently learning about Microsoft Teams to provide the client with technology recommendations.
Angela began working as an industrial engineer at the Boeing Company in 2011. For the first four years, she worked with mechanics and management to develop schedules, reports, and models to generate performance metrics for various Boeing 787 product lines.
In August 2015, Angela transitioned into information technology (IT). She is a product manager for the infrastructure transformation consulting practice team. She has been in this role for about two years and can empower and support teams using agile methodologies by consulting with various groups. She also facilitates process improvement workshops while coaching teammates using lean principles.
Since joining Boeing, Angela has earned numerous certifications in lean process improvements, such as Six Sigma Green Belt, Value Stream Mapping Leader, and Accelerated Improvement Workshop Leader.
She also has various certifications in agile methodologies and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles such as SAFe 4 Product Owner/Product Manager, Scrum Master, and Agilist.
Angela currently serves on a Diversity and Inclusion Council, where she has received various awards for team support in diversity and inclusion.
Angela earned both a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and a master's degree in industrial and systems engineering from North Carolina A&T State University.
She is a Pi Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society member and enjoyed tutoring undergraduates in math courses while completing her graduate degree. After graduate school, Angela was accepted into the Manufacturing Professional Development Program with Caterpillar Inc.
This three-year accelerated leadership program facilitated the training and management skills needed to assume key positions in Caterpillar's global manufacturing operations.
