Andrea Doakes is a senior manager at Abbott Laboratories. She was named a Technology Rising Star at the 2021 Women of Color (WOC) STEM Conference.
Doakes was also featured in the spring 2022 edition of Women of Color magazine. She was one of the issue's 50 women to watch in science, technology, engineering, and math STEM) careers.
During the fourth quarter of 2019, Doakes became a member of a team of program managers responsible for driving margin improvement with one of Abbott's divisions. In the team's first year, they enabled the division to achieve more than $100 million in savings.
Doakes was a collaborative team member, setting the bar with professionalism, objectivity, and creativity. She is a certified six sigma black belt. She has supported the transfer of product manufacturing between suppliers or Abbott sites and suppliers, allowing Abbott to maintain or improve quality, supply continuity, and cost.
Doakes has applied her six sigma training to the execution of new product rollouts, defining the critical elements to ensure smooth product launches.
