At the 20th Annual Women of Color STEM Conference in Detroit, two Northrop Grumman Corporation employees, Kaiann Fu and Padmapriya Vijayasarathi, were recognized for their exceptional achievements.
The conference acknowledges women in the STEM fields, offers professional development and networking opportunities, promotes the involvement of women and minority groups in STEM careers, and highlights the success of others.
Kaiann Fu, an industrial systems engineer in Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector, received the Technical Innovation award. She has been with the company since 2009, supporting various internal research and development projects and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance programs.
Fu is a member of a Northrop Grumman diversity and inclusion board and has authored three technical publications on digital communications. She holds a bachelor's, master's, and doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Padmapriya Vijayasarathi, (photo inset) a manager in Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector, received the Special Recognition award.
Since joining the company in 2002, she has held various roles as a developer, solutions architect, and manager. Her team provides architectural direction, selects tools, technology, and vendors, and ensures schedule, cost, and technical guidelines compliance. Vijayasarathi earned her master's in science and technology development at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India.
