Kathleen Jolivette, the winner of the 2023 Career Achievement in Industry Award, began her career as an intern at The Boeing Company in 2002 and now holds the position of Vice President and General Manager of Vertical Lift for Boeing Defense, Space & Security. Take a listen here.

Jolivette, who is from the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, has achieved remarkable success in her career, leading a division, managing over 9,000 employees, and overseeing a worldwide fleet of 2,500 aircraft.

Jolivette has also been a vocal proponent of diversity and mentorship, specifically promoting women of color in STEM through her work with business resource groups.

Laura Luengo, who received the Professional Achievement in Industry Award, began her career as a CAD Intern at Volvo Buses before moving on to the Vehicle Integration team at Lordstown Motors Corporation. Take a listen here.

With 18 years of experience in the automotive industry, Luengo now oversees the Prototype Vehicle Fleet and ensures customer satisfaction through innovative engineering solutions for electric vehicles.

Her ability to quickly grasp new concepts and communicate ideas effectively has propelled her to lead the development of various subsystems for the Endurance Vehicle.

In addition to her work, Luengo is also a mentor to university students aspiring to enter the automotive industry and encourages young girls in STEM as a STEMinista at the Michigan Science Center.

Charlotte M. Farmer is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at UL Research Institutes. She has been recognized for her contributions to STEM fields and received the BEYA Modern-Day Technology Leader Award in 2015. Take a listen here.

Farmer was inducted into the Hall of Fame during the BEYA Metaquake Symposium in Washington, D.C.

She was one of 11 inductees from across the country honored this year for their science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) achievements. At UL Research Institutes, Farmer works to keep the world safe, secure, and sustainable.
