The seminar titled "First-Time Managers: Essential Strategies for a Successful Transition to Leadership" took place on Friday morning, followed by a series of workshops.
In the afternoon, some of the the discussions were on DEI Ambassadors: Making a Diverse Workplace a Reality, resiliency and overcoming obstacles faced by women of color in corporate America presented by Jacobs, effectively managing Gen Z and Millennial Employees, engaging and motivating younger workforces, Zero Trust and Data Security, embracing neurodiversity in the workplace, and more.
The workshops covered a variety of topics, including "Building Resilience: Strategies for Managing Stress and Boosting Performance," "The Impact of Chat GPT and AI on the Workplace," "Maximizing Talent Capital to Reimagine the Future of STEM," "All You Can Be" - a session that discussed how to achieve professional goals presented by The U.S. Army, and "Career Carnival" workshops designed for middle and high school students.
Additionally, there was a "Roundtable/Mentoring Session" and "Hack-a-Thon."
The morning seminars focused on workplace relationships, including "Communication Strategies for Engaging Highly Sensitive People," "Managing Emotional Tension: Strategies for Navigating Personality Disagreements and Conflict in the Workplace," and "Revolutionizing Business Continuity Through Digital Transformation."
Moreover, the U.S. Forest Service presented "The Effects of Climate Change: Exciting Challenges for STEM Professionals," and Huntington Ingalls Industries presented "A Conversation on Breaking the Glass Ceiling!"
The Technology Recognition Event took place later in the afternoon, followed by a seminar on mental health awareness in the workforce and networking suites hosted by Amazon, Google, and Walmart.
Friday's awards ceremony will honor exceptional women from various backgrounds.
The Women of Color judges evaluate candidates from a diverse pool, including extraordinary students, rising talents, accomplished mid-career professionals and managers, influential C-suite executives, innovators, visionary inventors, and impactful change agents.
