Christina Upah began her career at Boeing in 1997 as an electrical technician and has since risen to Vice President of Attack Helicopter Programs at The Boeing Company.

At Boeing, Christina's leadership and expertise have helped fortify the defense systems of the United States Army and allied forces worldwide.

In her acceptance speech for the Managerial Leadership Award, Christina expressed her deep honor and gratitude. She acknowledged that the award not only represents her journey but is also a celebration of the countless women of color who came before her, paving the way for future generations.

She also highlighted the challenges of being a woman of color in a leadership position, but emphasized how those challenges made her the resilient, determined, and strong woman she is today.

Christina has led the execution of billion-dollar development programs, including the AH-64 Apache Version 6, and negotiated the Apache Direct Commercial Sales program.

She also served as the director of international Apache programs, leading the program execution of foreign military and direct commercial sales, supporting global customers.

Under her leadership, Boeing announced it would produce 184 AH-64E Apache, including the first Apache for Australia and other clients.

Christina inspires her team to meet production rates to build the AH-64 Apache for the U.S. Army and defense customers across the globe. She is regarded as a true leader who instills a passion for excellence in her team.

Christina leads over 4,600 employees. Her team designs, produces, and delivers innovative AH-64 Apache and AH-6 Little Bird helicopters to defense forces.

Christina's responsibilities include strategic planning, program definition and execution, customer rapport, and selection and mentorship of staff and subcontractors.

She has strong working relationships with government organizations, industry suppliers, customers, and representatives of the U.S. government, ensuring the successful execution of program strategies and objectives.

Her work is critical to national safety and security, and her leadership continues to inspire excellence in her team.
