Adrienne Stapleton has been a driving force within the Program Executive Officer Ships organization in the Naval Sea Systems Command since she began her engineering career in 1990.
Initially, she worked as a financial analyst for the auxiliary and special mission shipbuilding program office and was responsible for managing $1.5 billion in ship construction and conversion funds.
Her performance in this role led to her selection as assistant program manager for financial management for the amphibious assault ship replacement. In this position, she served as the senior liaison for budget, accounting, and monetary policy and procedures.
During this time, Adrienne was selected for the Secretary of the Navy Financial Management Fellowship Program and completed her master's degree in business administration.
Following this, she was chosen as the principal assistant program manager for business financial management in the strategic and theater sealift program office.
In 2014, she led financial management for major defense acquisition programs, including shipbuilding programs such as the Expeditionary Sea Base, Expeditionary Fast Transport, Ready Reserve Force Recapitalization, and Expeditionary Medical Ship Programs.
These programs are critical contributors to national security and the readiness and capability of the U.S. Navy.
Adrienne's many accomplishments include serving as a technical authority on business financial matters.
She has led her team in the financial actions supporting the delivery of 14 Expeditionary Fast Transport and Expeditionary Sea Base ships totaling over $4 billion as well as the contracting and current construction of EPF, EMS, and ESB ships totaling over $3 billion.
She is accountable for the present and pending delivery of over 7% of the Navy's battle-force ships.
