Linette Brito is a lead system safety specialist working on NASA's Cargo Mission Contract at Leidos.
Her primary responsibility is to mitigate ground and flight hazards for each hardware item on the flights to the International Space Station.
Linette performs hazard analysis. She has over two decades of experience managing various NASA and government contracts, specializing in system safety, reliability engineering, and data management.
Linette started her career at The Boeing Company, where she supported the NASA Space Shuttle Payload/Cargo Integration contract and contributed to Return to Flight hazard reports.
Later, she worked as a configuration analyst at the Lockheed Martin Corporation, where she processed change requests and directives, served as a certificate of flight readiness flight lead, and managed the workload for the system safety team.
She is currently responsible for developing safety data packages and hazard reports, performing reliability assessments, and managing the system safety team's workload.
Linette's expertise and dedication have made her a valuable asset to the System Safety team and NASA.
She has received several awards for her commitment to meeting customer expectations and delivering planned projects on time.
Linette also supports NASA Programs such as Orion, Gateway, the Human Landing System (HLS) that will take astronauts to the lunar surface as part of the Artemis program, and NASA's Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Program, which provides safe, reliable, and efficient spacewalking and surface mobility capabilities.
As a leader, Linette supports STEM and minority organizations and volunteers her time to encourage students, especially women of color, to pursue careers in STEM.
She also participates in Leidos Lunch and Learns to raise awareness of diversity in the workplace.
Linette's leadership style, proactiveness, and knowledge make her an asset to the team, and she is a vital member of the Cargo Mission Contract.
