One of the honorees is Deepthy Thomas, who is a team leader at Walmart Global Tech Enterprise. She works on automating risk and compliance solutions and has developed technical solutions to support these systems. Thomas is known for being results-driven, proactive, transparent, and a great leader who invests in her professional growth. She also champions science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and promotes diversity in the field. With her potential to innovate, she has the potential to become an industry thought leader for data-driven risk management and compliance postures.
Another honoree is Diandre Jacob-Sampson, who is responsible for maintaining the Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) systems and providing operational field support. EKMS provides cryptographic key generation, distribution, and management to the Department of Defense, which helps soldiers to secure their communication equipment. Her efforts to improve quality and productivity across the EKMS team have resulted in them passing the General Systems Test and fielding the upgraded hardware and software to the operational sites. Since joining the EKMS team, Jacob-Sampson has been a positive role model.
Emberle Pearson is another honoree who supervises engineering, logistics, and IT specialists. She is passionate about mentoring entry-level acquisition employees and providing them with the necessary tools and training to excel. Pearson has implemented a workshop introduced by Naval Air Systems Command that has now been expanded to cover entry-level employees in the command. Additionally, she created a video highlighting the important and exciting work performed at the division, which was shared with historically Black colleges and universities. This led to an increase in diverse candidates.
