Carissa Pajel actively pursued groundbreaking technology and innovative solutions to drive progress and change in civil aviation.

Pajel is an expert in sealant material technology and served as a technical lead engineer.

Her work significantly contributed to the safety of both the flying public and those protecting our nation.

Thanks to her efforts, aircraft parts are now better protected from corrosion and electromagnetic effects.

Pajel qualified fast-curing sealants, which reduced the cure time by 82%.

Additionally, she shortened the sealant qualification process from 18-24 months to just five months, resulting in substantial cost savings for airplanes.

Over the years, she received performance and innovation awards in 2014, 2018, and 2021. In 2022, she was nominated for the Corporate Engineering Organizations Team of the Year Award.

Pajel holds 19 patents in her field and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE), the SAE G9 Sealing Committee, and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
