As we brace for the peak of winter 2025, WOC Online proudly recognizes Connie Caldwell for her outstanding dedication as a meteorological technician trainer.
During her 24+ years of military experience, including 11 years as a civilian employee for the Department of Defense, Caldwell demonstrated an unwavering commitment to national defense and STEM education.
Caldwell worked with the 15th Operational Weather Squadron at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois and the 618th TACC Global Mobility Weather Operations Directorate.
She mentored and trained numerous Airmen in areas such as meteorology, weather briefings, and provided critical support services for the National Weather Service.
Her exceptional contributions to science and education earned her the U.S. Air Force Weather Civilian of the Year Award, presented by the Air Force Weather Agency, a field operating agency of the Headquarters U.S. Air Force Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Air and Space Operations, Weather Directorate.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Caldwell was an active volunteer. She regularly dedicated her time to community service activities, such as distributing food at an annual harvest festival and raising funds for military families in need through Operation Warm Heart.
