Special Recognition Honoree Crystal Emery is a respected producer, author, and filmmaker. She is nationally recognized for producing narratives aimed at creating a more equitable society.
Emery has been hailed as a “leader in science and technology” in Good Housekeeping’s list of “Women Who Are Changing the World.” Emery’s writing has appeared in TIME magazine, Variety magazine, Ms. magazine, and The Huffington Post.
In 2015, she launched the Changing the Face of STEM initiative. On June 12, 2018, Emery held a kickoff tour in Washington, D.C. in conjunction with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
This fall, Emery will be a keynote speaker at the National Security Agency in Washington.
Emery is also the founder and CEO of URU The Right To Be, Inc., a non-profit content production company that tackles the intersection of humanities, arts, science, and technology.
