Northrop Grumman Corporation has received more awards at the annual Women of Color STEM Conference than any other organization. Hundreds of Northrop Grumman employees have been recognized with Women of Color awards for leadership in their workplaces and communities, outstanding work as role models and mentors, and helping to shape the future of technology.
In October 2008, twenty-two Northrop Grumman employees were recognized at the Women of Color Conference for their achievements in science, engineering, and technology.
Among the recipients was Nora Lin, who was honored with the Career Achievement award. Lin, the manager of supportability engineering for Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems sector, received the award for contributions to the engineering field, and her work as a role model and mentor for minorities in technology. Lin was also the president-elect of the Society of Women Engineers at the time.
Sixty-three Northrop Grumman Corporation employees received awards for their achievements at the fifteenth annual Women of Color STEM Conference in 2010. Among them was Tami Randolph, a program manager in the company's Information Systems sector in Fairfax, Va. Experienced in systems engineering, software development, and business development, she provided leadership to the research, development, and integration of signals intelligence systems.
Amanda Vallejo, a senior management executive for the company's Shipbuilding sector's Gulf Coast operations in Pascagoula, Miss., won the Diversity Award. She was responsible for the design and implementation of a diversity and equal employment opportunity program for more than 16,000 employees in three states. The program was recognized as a corporate best practice by the New York-based Council of the Americas think tank. Vallejo attended the University of Southern California.
In Oct. 2016 Anita Lee Wright received the Industry Corporate Responsibility award at the Women of Color STEM Conference in Detroit for her efforts to support Northrop Grumman’s assistance to underrepresented communities and provide technology tools and education services for minority youth and adults.
