Mrs. Jenine Patterson is a nominee for a Professional Achievement in Industry Award at the 2020 Women of Color STEM Conference. Patterson is a principal system engineer in MITRE’s Law Enforcement and Domestic Security Division.
“Jenine has had- and continues to have- a meaningful impact on issues of national consequence. She is a creative leader who can carve a path through the most complex challenges. Her opinion is valued at the highest level of government,” said Dr. Jason F. Providakes, president & CEO of The MITRE Corporation.
Patterson oversaw implementations of data management for a sponsor in law enforcement and domestic security. Her system enables the right people to receive the right data in the right format to save lives, avert disasters, and track down criminals.
She applies expertise in strategic planning, systems thinking, and change management to advanced analytics, and managed attribution communications for law enforcement partners. She also has a record of success, having spent a decade implementing policy and process changes to mitigate national security risks resulting from reliance on global, commercial IT systems.
Before she came to MITRE, she served at the Department of Defense. During a year-long detail away from the defense department, she advised the White House on addressing supply chain threats to national and economic security as director on the National Security Council staff.
She was handpicked by a White House senior director who recognized her as one of the top experts on the topic.
