After earning a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Madras University in India, Aruna Anand relocated to the United States. Since she earned a master's degree in computer science and engineering from Oakland University in Michigan, she has spent more than two decades in the North American auto industry.
Currently, she is vice president for architecture and networking at Continental. Other positions she has held include vice president, connected car networking, head of the business unit, engineering services, senior engineering manager, and engineering manager.
In 2017, Aruna received the Professional Achievement in Industry Award during the Women of Color in STEM Conference. Aruna’s expertise has earned her a reputation as someone who gets things done – and done well.
“This award intensifies my sense of responsibility to further the growth of women in STEM,” she said. “I believe it is vital that I do everything to the best of my ability. I’m grateful for this demanding journey that helped unveil strengths I wasn’t sure I possessed.”
In 2020, Aruna was listed as one of the "100 leading women in the North American Auto Industry" by Automotive News.
