Dr. Miquel Antoine is a 2018 nominee for the Women of Color magazine's Managerial Leadership Award. The program manager at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory will be honored at the Women of Color in STEM Conference in Detroit on October 13.
Throughout her career, Dr. Antoine has worked diligently to enhance opportunities for others through professional development initiatives, community outreach programs, and mentoring.
A talented scientist, she moved into program and staff leadership positions at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory after many years of making technical contributions at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Department of Defense, NASA, and Department of Homeland Security.
She has been recognized for significant contributions to national security, which led to two major business units within the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL).
She has authored more than 20 journal articles and been awarded two patents, with one of them earning the APL Invention of the Year Award.
As the APL Program Manager for the $37 million Surveillance Systems Program within the National Intelligence Community program, Dr. Antoine is responsible for overseeing technological solutions to meet the needs of US warfighters.
She also serves as assistant group supervisor for the Signals Exploitation Systems Group and manages a 40-member team of engineers, scientists, and support staff in addressing Department of Defense and Intelligence Community challenges.
