Wageesha Senaratne is a senior research associate at Corning Research and Development Center, Corning Incorporated.
Throughout her career at Corning, she has held various roles such as project leader, research associate, senior research scientist, and research scientist.
Her research interests encompass micro and nanostructure fabrication on glass, process development, glass etching, coating development, surface chemistry, inorganic-organic materials/composites, nanoparticle coatings, optical coatings, barrier coatings, and self-assembly materials.
Corning's products include damage-resistant cover glass in billions of mobile devices, precision glass for advanced displays, optical fiber, wireless technologies and networks, products for drug discovery and delivery acceleration, and clean-air technologies for cars and trucks.
Wageesha joined Corning as a postdoctoral researcher in 2005 after obtaining a Ph.D. in materials chemistry from Cornell University.
Prior to this, she earned a master's degree in chemistry from Cornell in 2002 and her undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Colombo in 1998.
