The 2019 Managerial Leadership Award given at the Women of Color in STEM Conference Gala went to Buba B. Turner, a director, and IT Business Partner for Boeing Global Services. She has more than 18 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
In a previous role as director of software engineering, she managed a $23 million budget and a software development team of more than 120 employees and 63 contracted employees.
Her work teams have been recipients of Aviation Week Program Excellence Awards, which honor aerospace and defense programs and projects, leaders and their teams for excellence in executing their work; and Project Management Institute (PMI) awards that honor the “Best of the Best” in project management for individuals, organizations, and projects.
Currently, Turner is responsible for Digital Solutions & Analytics, Training & Professional Services, and U.S. Government Services. She also introduces new IT capabilities and the latest IT innovations.
Since joining Jeppesen, a Boeing subsidiary, more than 11 years ago, she has held positions of increasing responsibility.
