During this afternoon's episode of Midweek with Women of Color (WOC), host Marsha Jews interviewed two motivational speakers. The first guest was Tracy Walker, a higher educational professional in student affairs, student engagement, and financial aid.
Tracy will be leading seminar sessions at the upcoming WOC STEM DTX Conference on topics such as "Navigating Power Dynamics: Strategies for Women in the Workplace" and "Achieving Work-Life Harmony in the Remote Work Era."
The panelists will discuss strategies for overcoming unconscious bias, challenging stereotypes, and advocating for gender equality in the workplace.
Tracy believes that by fostering self-awareness, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills, women can navigate power dynamics with confidence and integrity, contributing to more inclusive and equitable workplaces.
Tracy's experiences as an undergraduate student led her to become an advocate for herself and others on campus, ultimately shaping her career path in educational administration.
She hopes that conference attendees will take away best practices to implement in their institutions and professional careers.
The second guest, motivational speaker Sondia J. Christian, is also the director of business integration at HII, Ingalls Shipbuilding Division.
In her current role, Sondia is responsible for overseeing overall technical and integration strategies within business management.
She also manages human capital activities and professional development while providing business intelligence through process changes, architecture updates, and innovative technology.
Sondia's speaker sessions at the conference include "Unlocking Success: How Do Successful Women Think" and "Bridging the Generational Tech Gap: Understanding Expectations and Coping Strategies in the Workplace."
