Naomie Baptiste won the Diversity Leadership in Industry Award at the 2019 Women of Color STEM Conference. Last year, she was recognized as a "National Technical Excellence Ambassador" for her efforts in increasing Lean Six Sigma Methodology programming to reduce waste and enhance process efficiencies in certification opportunities.
Baptiste began her role as a program management-subcontract manager for the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) program at Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems Training and Logistics Solutions in 2018.
She leads an Integrated Product Team focused on vendors at the business unit, which is Lockheed Martin’s center of excellence for training and logistics products and services, serving the U.S. military and more than 65 international customers around the world.
In addition, Baptiste promotes diversity in her organization to support small business/supplier development. She facilitates diversity in supply chain management in the selection of the best value in the scope of cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
To support national science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) pipeline efforts, she volunteers with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Baptiste leads resume and interviewing workshops to prepare collegiate students for the corporate workforce.
Baptiste says her most rewarding experience is mentoring young women and helping them build confidence to pursue engineering as a first-choice profession.
