Abrielle "Abbey" Otero is an experienced User Experience/User Interface Design Engineer who has made significant contributions to the advanced user experience (AUX) team.
Her research on a prototyping tool was instrumental in the decision-making process and helped the team select the best technology solution.
She even recreated a previous prototype to measure aspects such as file size and prototype performance.
Abbey has received internal awards from her peers and project managers for her exceptional collaboration and communication skills, not just with designers but also with developers.
She consistently seeks feedback from her peers, subject matter experts, and developers who implement her designs. Abbey has also taken on the role of mentoring and helping onboard user experience designers.
As a mentor, she meets with new designers regularly and has put together a comprehensive new hire hub, adding materials to the site.
Additionally, Abbey uses the core human factors nature of continuous improvement to discover ways to improve the onboarding process for future designers.
She has continued supporting the student chapter of Human Factors and Ergonomics Society at her alma mater, Embry Riddle, by presenting to current students as an early career professional.
Abbey has provided instructional sessions to the AUX team, recently leading a book study chapter on developing user personas.
She is a future leader in technology, representing the qualities of collaboration, accountability, and communication. She blends scientific understanding in human perception, attention, and cognition with a careful and detail-oriented eye for dealing with complex and often critical problems.
