Rhonda Childress is a vice president, IBM Fellow, and Business Information Security Officer at IBM.
She is a finalist for the 2021 Women of Color Corporate Responsibility Award.
Nominees for this award are innovators in the delivery of benefits to communities historically underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Through their work, corporations make major commitments to provide technology tools and educational services for minority youth and adults and to put budgetary backbone into community development efforts.
Early on, Rhonda became known within IBM and the industry for her skills in automation and ability to apply them to client environments.
In 1999, she co-authored one of IBM’s best-selling Redbooks: “Tivoli Enterprise Internals and Problem Determination.”
According to IBM Redbooks, they work with IBM divisions to develop information products that explore realistic client scenarios, which include IBM products as well as technologies from Red Hat, SAP, Oracle, Linux, and others.
Rhonda is a master inventor. She has over 200 patents, 130 of which are related to the management of systems, cybersecurity, mobile, aircraft, and Internet of Things.
As an IBM Fellow, Rhonda is considered a corporate asset and can be called upon to help resolve issues in her area of expertise.
