College students who attend the Women of Color (WOC) STEM Conference get a rare glimpse into what lies ahead and are better prepared to take the next critical steps in forging their own successful careers.
As an early-career sales associate, Whitni Wilson-Wertz, a 2022 Women of Color Special Recognition Award winner, made an impression on Otis Elevator by activating dormant accounts and generating $1.5 million in annual revenue.
Now she leads a team based in North America and China that coordinates fulfillment for high-rise construction. She supervises the execution of engineering, estimating, and quality solutions for the North American high-rise team. This portfolio is valued at more than $90 million.
Wilson-Wertz’s projects include New York’s tallest skyscraper. She’s handled marquee projects in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, City Center Las Vegas, New York City, and Seattle, WA.
She’s served on United Technologies President’s Council to increase the participation of women-, minorities-, veterans-, and differently abled-owned businesses. She also serves as vice chair for the Otis Employee Resource Group—Women’s Initiative Network.
In recognition of her efforts, Wilson-Wertz has received the Otis Outstanding Contribution Award and won the Otis Elevator-United Technologies Outstanding Achievements Presidential Award.
