This June Explora and STEM-NM will be holding its 7th annual New Mexico Science fiesta. The event is aimed to teach kids more about science, technology, engineering, art and math.
Explora is a science and children’s museum in Albuquerque, New Mexico that aims to create fun experiences for kids to explore in STEM. The museum’s mission is not only to serve the backgrounds of each and every individual, but to also improve New Mexico’s educational and economic outcomes.
The camp will run from June 11-18 and will include events for the whole family to enjoy throughout the week, with the main event being the New Mexico Science Fiesta that Friday. The main mission of the event is to spark curiosity, creativity, and innovation out of the community.
The event will be held both in-person and online including scheduled talks, demonstrations, tours, workshops and more with activities being based off of age group and topic interest. More than 70 STEM professionals will be present sharing their enthusiasm on science and learning.
The event is one of the state’s largest celebrations of STEM and is sponsored by Air Force Research Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, New Mexico EPSCoR and Toas Community Foundation.
