February 11 is International Women and Girls in Science Day.
It's the annual day to recognize the critical role women and girls play in science and technology.
International Day of Women and Girls in Science was established in 2015 and is implemented by the United Nations, in collaboration with institutions and civil society partners that aim to promote women and girls in science.
The day is a reminder that the participation of women and girls in science and technology should be strengthened.
Since 1995, the Women of Color in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Conference has hosted several award ceremonies for women who create innovation and inspiration.
