Anaizat Hereim takes pride in representing women and minorities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at work and in the community.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she learned at an early age that living on an island that suffers hurricane damage every year came with great responsibility.
In 2001, after graduating high school in Puerto Rico, Anaizat joined the Navy.
After boot camp, she completed the aviation storekeeper course at the Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC). While at NTTC, Anaizat earned the opportunity to apply for early promotion.
During active duty service she provided inventory management in support of squadrons and shore-based activities. Anaizat also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and represented the U.S. Navy at community events.
In 2009, Anaizat joined Textron Systems as an inventory control clerk and continued her undergraduate degree in accounting.
Three years into her position, Anaizat was entrusted with overseeing one subcontractor, two depots performing under a public-private partnership, and a field service rep. A year later, the customer awarded Textron Systems a five-year contract. Anaizat continued delivering on time until the completion of the contract.
In 2018, Anaizat joined Bell Textron Inc. as a cost analysis engineer. A few months into her role, she was selected as cost analysis engineering lead for an aircraft prototype. Currently, Anaizat is the lead for a specialty engineering team under milestone deliverable requirements established by the Department of Defense.
The specialty engineering team influences design by focusing on the properties of the system that manifest their effect in production. These properties include reliability, maintainability, safety, and affordability.
