LG Chem Power Inc.'s CEO Denise Gray received the 2017 Technologist of the Year Award at the Women of Color in STEM Gala in Detroit, Michigan.

Gray has overall responsibility for the strategic direction, engineering and business development activities of the business.
She is respected in the industry as part of the team that successfully developed and launched the lithium-ion battery system used in the Chevrolet Volt. The Volt uses LG Chem battery cells produced at the company's plant in Holland, Michigan.
Gray received her master's degree in engineering management and technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Kettering University.
