In 2024, WOC Online announced the Women of Color magazine's list of the top 40 individuals under 40 in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Each year, Women of Color magazine recognizes outstanding professionals in STEM and presents the Technology All-Star and Rising Star awards to trailblazers who have a significant and lasting impact in their respective industries.
Among the awardees is Master Sergeant Bonnie Rushing, who is a member of the U.S. Air Force Academy faculty.
Rushing has made notable contributions in traditionally male-dominated fields such as the military, aircrew, and special operations.
She was the first in her family to graduate from college and later pursued a graduate degree at the National Intelligence University, focusing her thesis on artificial intelligence and human needs.
Rushing has dedicated significant efforts to national security missions and has volunteered hundreds of hours for various causes.
In recognition of her work in promoting diversity and inclusion in military, intelligence, defense, and signals technology organizations, she received the 2021 Women of Color Pioneer Award.
