This year's Women to Watch Summit will be held on May 5, 2023, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm EDT on the Women of Color STEM DTX Platform. The Women to Watch Summit is designed to encourage and inspire women in STEM to share their career experiences in a trustworthy environment. The program celebrates women who have made a significant impact in their respective fields.
The Women to Watch Summit aims to connect, educate, and encourage women to support each other, enhance their self-esteem, and live a balanced, fulfilling life.
The Women to Watch Summit: Women of the Year program includes several sessions on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the tech industry. In addition, the sessions aim to help women leaders overcome challenges and provide strategies for career growth and development.
"The Conversation of Change" will be moderated by Victoria Castaneda, an analytics engineer at Health Catalyst; Tamika Gray, a program manager at Health Catalyst, Javiera Soto, a defense and technology industry executive at WithYouWithMe, and Daphne Brooks, a diversity operations program analyst at the Office of Secretary of the Air Force. The panelists will explore efforts to advance DEI in the tech industry and how to include women in these initiatives fully.
"I Got Your Back" will be moderated by Christine Burkette, CEO of Promising Integrations Consulting Firm, Inc., Sondia Christian, director of business integration at Huntington Ingalls Industries, and Jeannice Fairrer-Samani, managing director at FSG, LLC. The panelists will examine methods for women to support each other to boost self-confidence and experience more career satisfaction.
"Vertical Leadership" will be moderated by Colonel Lawanda Warthen, director of public affairs at U.S. Army Medicine, Air Force Colonel Jenise Carroll, deputy director of diversity and inclusion, and Army Colonel Princess Atunrase, equal opportunity program manager at the U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM). In this discussion, panelists will explore methods to help female employees grow and develop as leaders.
