Mina Balasubramanian has been a valuable member of Ford Motor Company since 2014, currently holding the position of software engineering manager with Ford Next.

Ford Next is a subsidiary of Ford dedicated to launching new businesses in mobility, electrification, autonomy, and direct-to-customer digital services.

Under Mina's leadership, her team successfully developed a new platform that enables ride-share drivers to lease electric vehicles from Ford Next.

Throughout her career, Mina has been dedicated to delivering technical solutions that advance Ford's business objectives, while also inspiring other women and girls to pursue technical careers.

Mina has coached middle and high school students in team-building skills, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking, and has led initiatives for the Women of Ford Technology employee resource group.

Mina holds a master's degree in applied mathematics and computer science, a bachelor's degree in applied sciences, and certification in programming mobile applications for Android handheld systems.

Mina was nominated for the 2023 Women of Color STEM Award based on her work at Ford Next, where she helped launch a new venture that enables ride-share drivers to lease electric vehicles through a software platform.

Despite facing challenges, Mina worked diligently with external technical teams to find solutions for all parties involved.

In addition to her technical expertise, Mina is also a people leader who mentors and coaches her team of software engineers, while also serving as an advisor for the employer of choice committee at the Women of Ford Technology chapter.

Mina's attention to detail and strong planning skills played a significant role in transitioning her team's project from a conceptual ideation state to a revenue-generating launch mode.

Outside of work, Mina volunteers her time to promote STEM education within the elementary and middle school student community.
