Mrs. Demetria F. Hall, a systems engineer at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, was on the design team that built the F-35 jet fighter, which is currently flying the United States military.
As part of the design team, her primary role was wind tunnel research and development that helped define the best performance of the airplane.
Hall has also earned recognition for her passion in exposing students to careers at Lockheed Martin.
She has initiated collaborative events with talent acquisition, diversity & inclusion, and business resource groups to showcase innovative F-35 Cockpit Simulator and Virtual Reality experiences.
As an active member of NSBE Professionals, which is made up of engineers, scientists, technologists and business executives at Lockheed Martin, she leads a team of volunteers that promote opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at local schools.
Hall also serves on the Executive Board's Pre-College Initiative (PCI) Committee, which helps to lead College Prep Day and reach over 400 local high school students.
These efforts have helped spark student interest, led to the hiring of a more diverse workforce, and earned Hall a nomination for a Community Service Award at the 2020 Women of Color STEM Conference.
“Demetria demonstrates a strong commitment to technical leadership by promoting STEM and impacting her community. Her actions exemplify the core values of what it means to be a great leader and role model,” said JD McFarlan, vice president, functional engineering.
