Tameika N. Hollis, who served as a keynote speaker during the WOC STEM DTX Women to Watch symposium earlier this year, has been promoted from President to Chief Executive Officer at Illuminate, a provider of data collection and analysis tools.
According to the press release, the leadership changes ensure Illuminate is positioned to effectively respond to increased client demand for Illuminate solutions across a broad range of use cases in government agencies, commercial enterprises, and network operators.
Commenting on the promotion, Kevin Cantrell, chair of the company’s board of directors, said “Tameika has provided outstanding leadership for Illuminate, as evidenced by numerous award wins in a variety of competitive circumstances during her tenure. We are pleased to recognize her many contributions with this well-deserved promotion.”
An engineering graduate of the Florida A&M University-Florida State University College of Engineering, Hollis joined Northrop Grumman in 2003 and held a number of management and leadership positions in engineering and program management.
One of her first jobs in the Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems was in system engineering. After two months, she was named integrated product team lead for systems engineering and integration and test for her program. She was responsible for the development of all systems engineering tasks and budgets as well as all system-test activities.
In addition to her technical contributions, Hollis was a part of a task force chartered with streamlining all the systems engineering processes at the company.
She also took part in Northrop Grumman’s High School Involvement Partnership Program, mentoring high school students and helping them pursue technical careers in college. Hollis earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Florida A&M University and a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan.
Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, she served as an electro-optical lead for Raytheon and a Control Systems lead for Boeing Satellite Systems.
Illuminate provides government agencies, commercial enterprises, and network operators with the data, services, and technology that helps them protect the information that surrounds us all and extract real value from it.
Outside of work, Tameika continues contributing to others’ success by volunteering as a science fair judge, visiting schools to inspire students, and leading workshops at the Society for Women Engineers (SWE) and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
