Special Recognition honors at the 2019 Women of Color STEM Conference went to Christina Achampong, a strategist at the National Security Agency, an intelligence agency of the United States Department of Defense.
Since joining the NSA in 2009, Achampong has made invaluable contributions to attract minorities. She has worked to improve the agency’s policies for hiring, retaining, and promoting minorities while co-creating a career progression model. Achampong has helped countless employees at every level leverage resources to fill professional gaps.
Achampong is also noted for her work in Cryptologic Assessments & Performance.
Before this role, she was a Systems Analyst who focused on planning and managing scientific methodologies to support major decisions within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the Intelligence Community (IC).
She began her career as an Engineering Leader and led statistical, cost-benefit, risk, and decision analyses. S In this role, she was especially sought-after for her ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to a diverse audience.
