Master Sergeant Tahnika M. Bessant is First Sergeant in the 334th Fighter Squadron based at Seymour Johnson Air Force, North Carolina.
According to the Air Force, advancement to master sergeant is one of the most significant promotions within the enlisted Air Force.
Since 2003, she has acquired extensive training and qualifications, starting with Basic Military Training at the Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) in Texas, Airman Leadership School in Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, a Master of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education by correspondence, and First Sergeant Academy Maxwell-Gunter AFB, Ala.
Currently, Bessant serves as a key advisor to the squadron commander on issues related to health, morale, and welfare for more than three hundred and seventy F-15E Eagle pilots, instructors, and maintenance personnel.
She has also earned major awards and decorations such as Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and Air Force Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters.
