Karen Price-Ward retired recently after spending the last 25 years as Southwest's national lead for employee and community outreach strategic relationships.
During her tenure, she was responsible for driving the company's citizenship efforts and leveraging investments, as well as national and local relationships, to connect people and champion communities.
She was also charged with developing the outreach strategy to invest in workforce development and nurture diverse talent for careers in the aviation industry by developing a pipeline.
In addition, she was focused on building the community outreach civic engagement strategy to promote economic health, by empowering communities to thrive throughout the Southwest Airlines Co. network of 101 destinations.
Currently, she serves on several boards, including the University of Maryland Medical Systems Board, the National Campaign to Stop Violence Board, Greater Baltimore Urban League Board, Living Classrooms Board, Women Impacting Public Policy Advisory Board, and the Greater Baltimore Committee President’s Advisory Council.
She also chairs several committees and events for various organizations. Mrs. Price-Ward enjoys supporting community-based initiatives.
“It does not feel like a job, but rather an opportunity to connect and pay it forward in the community,” she said.
