Bindu Sundaresan is the director of cybersecurity at AT&T. She specializes in collaborating with clients on cyber-risk compliance and data governance initiatives.
Sundaresan has diverse experience working with some of the world’s most innovative organizations in the cybersecurity field.
Among them are the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), a physical sciences laboratory and a non-regulatory agency of the United States Department of Commerce; the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a body composed of representatives from national standards organizations; and HITRUST, a company that has championed programs which manage information risk.
Sundaresan has also worked with regulatory requirements such as the Payment Card Industry (PCI) standard for organizations that handle credit cards; the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) which works to assure the reliability and security of the bulk power system in North America; and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
For three years in a row, Sundaresan has been nominated as one of the top discussion leaders in briefing programs that are able to lead impactful customer discussions.
Sundaresan earned a master's degree in telecommunications and information net2working from the State University of New York. Prior, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Madras in India.
She also holds industry standard certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and Certified Information SecurityManager (CISM).
Sundaresan will receive an Outstanding Technical Contribution Award at WOC DTX 2021.
