In anticipation of the spring 2025 issue of Women of Color Magazine, the publisher has revealed the cover celebrating 25 years of publication, featuring Dottie Li as the cover star. Inside, the founder and CEO of TransPacific Communications shares insights on leadership.
WOC Magazine articles focus on essential industry topics, including talent acquisition, employer recruitment strategies, workforce training, and lifelong learning.
They also explore the experiences of different generations and examine intergenerational workforce dynamics.
The spring edition celebrates 25 years of storytelling and strategies that have shaped the future of women in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers.
According to a data newsletter published by the Employment and Training Administration at the U.S. Department of Labor, as of the second quarter of 2024, Gen Z workers (ages 13-28) made up nearly a fifth (18%) of the labor force.
In contrast, Baby Boomers (ages 61-79) accounted for 15%.
Millennials (ages 29-44) represent the largest share of the labor force at 36%, while the Silent Generation (ages 80-103) is almost entirely retired (1%).
Gen X workers (ages 45-60) held the second-largest share at 31%, with their participation declining modestly at a rate similar to that of Millennials.
The WOC STEM Conference, which has a three-decade history, celebrates inventors, innovators, changemakers, and leaders in STEM fields. Award winners are highlighted through compelling Women of Color Magazine articles.
