During the 2015 Women of Color (WOC) Conference, Annie B. Andrews was honored for a lifetime of achievement in the U.S. Navy. The WOC award recognizes outstanding dedication to growing diversity in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.
After a 32-year career in the U.S. Navy, Andrews went on to serve as an assistant administrator for human resource management at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which regulates all aspects of American civil aviation.
"Our Human Resources leader Annie B. Andrews is retiring from the FAA in February," wrote FAA Administrator Steve Dickson recently on LinkedIn. "For six years, she has driven innovation and we have all benefited from her genuine compassion, care and concern for our workforce. Annie’s adaptability, resilience and fortitude are qualities she honed during her 32-year career as a Naval Officer. Thank you, Annie, for your service to our nation."
