Lorena Cruz Quintero is a dedicated front-line supervisor at L3Harris Technologies, providing guidance and support to engineers, specialists, and technicians as they progress in their careers. In a crucial production phase, Lorena collaborated closely with her supervisors to successfully screen, interview, and train new hires, fostering strong relationships between team members and leadership.
Columba has been a software developer for 25 years, spending the last 15 years at L3Harris Technologies, a defense contractor that operates in over 100 countries and generates an annual revenue of over $17 billion.
At L3Harris, she manages a significant portion of the Tactical Communications technology enterprise, specifically the U.S. Army radio network planning software.
Columba has been working for the Army since 2008, where she has to understand sophisticated software architectures and tools, radio waveform design, and how radios should be set up to support battlefield communications.
She also ensures product security by working with the National Security Agency to meet national security standards. Since 2018, Columba has been leading the technical and managerial role in supporting the Army on the Atom program.
Her team delivers state-of-the-art radio planning software to soldiers, allowing Army S6 officers to plan large-scale networks incorporating thousands of communication nodes in hours rather than days.
Columba has contributed to many key Department of Defense documents that have driven development across the industry and any vendor working within the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) ecosystem. Columba is a role model for all those seeking to make a difference for the U.S. armed forces and the freedoms they protect.
