Laura Espriella is a durability engineer at Lordstown Motors (LMC), responsible for developing specifications and procedures documentation for electrical vehicles. She has over ten years of experience in durability testing, and leads multidisciplinary teams for updates, retrofits, and problem resolution.
Laura focuses on reducing the gap in correlation results between the Proving ground, Full Vehicle tests, and computer-aided engineering (CAE) analysis.
Before working at Lordstown Motors, Laura worked at Metalsa S.A. De C.V. for nine years, where she developed criteria and procedures to perform CAE Static, Quasi-static, and Durability Tests at the component level.
Laura is a pioneer in many things, such as being the first female engineer in her family and the first to work in another country. She has a master's degree in industrial engineering and a technical degree in computer numerical control.
Laura Luengo Herrero manages the Prototype Vehicle Fleet and oversees Vehicle Level Tests for Electrical Vehicles. Her role at Lordstown Motors involves managing the Prototype Vehicle Fleet, overseeing Vehicle Level Tests, and supporting problem resolution during the launch build of electrical vehicles.
She has experience in exterior and greenhouse engineering and has developed subsystems for the Endurance Vehicle. Laura's communication and problem-solving skills have helped her lead the development of different subsystems for the vehicle, integrating plastic injection molding to new safety feature components. She has pursued numerous roles throughout her career, starting as a CAD Intern at Volvo Buses and co-authoring two patents. Laura has been involved in leadership and community initiatives, such as mentoring university students through the Ford Hispanic Network and helping young girls develop technical skills through the STEMinista program.
