U.S. Air Force Major Ayanna H. Glenn is the education and training flight commander at 78th Medical Group Robins AFB. She is responsible for training services for clinics that support more than 9,000 service members and beneficiaries. Glenn was commissioned into the Air Force Nurse Corps in 2012.
As a nurse leader, she works with medics to provide care to warfighters of the United States Air Force. In addition, she leads mentoring events that showcase the importance of education to empower service members quarterly.
Maj. Glenn is the chairperson for the Installation Barrier Working Analysis Mentoring group for the Team Robins Women's Initiative Team.
As manager for the Women's Special Emphasis Program, she leads more than three thousand members.
She has championed inclusion for three commands. Some outreach mentoring events included speed mentoring and mental health awareness to help strengthen military communities and shape experiences in the Air Force.
Maj Glenn launched a support group to prevent disruption in the professional growth of female Airmen and civilians. She was invited to partake in the Joint Women Leadership Symposium with Air Force leadership, which focused on improvement and innovation in the Armed Forces.
Also, Maj. Glenn has engaged in numerous speaking engagements with youth groups at the Museum of Aviation STARBASE program, elementary schools across Georgia, health organizations, and other community partners.
Maj. Glenn has served as a speaker at an ROTC career fair and events for young people from low-income communities. In addition, she has partnered with the Air Force Reserve Command for the 1st Inaugural Air Force Health Professions Conference, which showcased opportunities to college representatives and students.
She volunteers for the Negro Council of Negro Women, serving on the Health and Education Committees, and she is also an active volunteer with the Atlanta Montego Bay Sister Cities Committee. This community organization provides free medical services to 2,500 citizens that cannot afford healthcare.
