Sarita Rao has had a successful career in telecommunications. One of her most notable achievements for the 2011 Women of Color STEM award was her role in launching the AT&T Wholesale Sales organization, along with leading the National Wireless Segment and AT&T's global IBM Go-to-Market relationship.
Sarita is passionate about innovation and mentoring. She champions "big thinking" and professional development as a coach to emerging leaders.
She is an advisor to AT&T employee resource groups and participates in numerous leadership programs across the company.
Sarita also holds community leadership roles in philanthropies that support the arts and children's health and nutrition worldwide. She has served on the Executive Board of Common Threads, a national organization educating kids about nutrition.
Before her current role, Sarita led global sales and operations. Her team developed Wi-Fi and data analytics solutions that delivered business insights to customers.
In 2019, Sarita received the Silver Stevie Award for Women in Business in the "Woman of the Year - Technology" category for her innovation in integrating MarTech for data-driven marketing, elevating the AT&T Business brand through the AT&T Business Summit, and leading marketing strategies to position AT&T as a technology leader in the market.
She also received the 2016 "Innovator of the Year" Stevie Award for delivering enterprise Wi-Fi in an emerging, dynamic market. Her team achieved first place by Cellular Telephone Industries Association (CTIA) in the 2015 Emerging Technology (E-Tech) category for AT&T Wi-Fi Small Site.
Sarita earned a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce from DePaul University. She also graduated from the Management Program for Executives from the University of Pennsylvania.
